OUR BELIEFS

BIBLE

We believe the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 Psalm 119:11, 89, 105 Isaiah 40:8 Matthew 22:29 John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17 Romans 15:4 2 Timothy 3:15-17 Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12 1 Peter 1:25 2 Peter 3:16

TRINITY

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He is one and exists in three parts or persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Although each member of Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Isaiah 61:1 Matthew 28:19 Mark 1:9-11 Luke 1:35 John 5:21-23; 14:10, 16 Romans 8:9-11 1 Corinthians 8:6 2 Corinthians 13:14 Hebrews 1:8-10 James 2:19

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts us of our sin, comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.

Genesis 1:2 Psalm 51:11; 139:7 ff. Isaiah 61:1-3 Joel 2:28-32 Mark 1:10 Luke 1:35; 4:1; 11:13; 12:12 John 15:26; 16:7-14 Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 13:2 Romans 8:9-11, 14-16, 26-27 1 Corinthians 3:16 Ephesians 1:13-14 2 Peter 1:2 Revelation 22:17

REPENTANCE

We believe that in the beginning mankind was created good and upright, but was separated from God by choosing to disobey His direction.  Now we each must choose to repent by turning away from sin in every area of our lives and follow Christs' example as shown in the Bible. Through repentance, we each receive forgiveness from God of our sins and receive salvation.

Genesis 1:26-31, 3:17; Acts 2:38, 3:19; Romans 5:12-21

SALVATION

Salvation occurs when you believe that Jesus Christ died as payment for your sin and was resurrected to show His power over sin and death.

Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7 Matthew 1:21; 27:22-66, 28:1-6 Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32 John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24 Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31 Romans 1:16-18; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6 1 Corinthians 1:18 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 Galatians 2:20; 3:13 Ephesians 2:8-10 Philippians 2:12-13 Hebrews 9:24-28 Revelation 3:20

ETERNITY

Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

John 3:16, 36 Romans 6:23 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13 Revelation 20:15

P R A Y E R

Prayer is our ability to communicate with God. Through Jesus’ salvation, we no longer need an intercessor to go between God and us; we can address Him directly. We believe that no monumental thing can be done without prayer preceding it and continuing through it.

Psalms 145:18; Proverbs 15:29; Matthew 7:11; Luke 18:1; Romans 8:26; Philippians 4:6; Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:8

B A P T I S M

Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly profess one’s salvation. God commands it, but our salvation is not reliant upon it. We practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38

C O M M U N I O N

Communion (The Lord’s Supper) is a unique time when the elements of bread and juice express, in a spiritual way, the body and blood of Christ. Communion is taken by believers in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 8:36-38, 10:47-48; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25

CHURCH

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for the teaching of the Word, worship unto God, prayer, and the breaking of bread with one another.

Hebrews 10:24-25; Matthew 18:20; Colossians 3:16; Acts 2:42
